Both apps bring SSH and Mosh to iPhone, iPad and Mac. Terminal brings together the agents in your herdr panes. Prompt 3 focuses on saved servers, reusable commands and a customizable terminal, with Apple Vision Pro support too.

We make Terminal. Here’s why you might choose it, and why you might choose Prompt 3.
You want one list of agents across your Macs, sorted by who needs you, with questions you can answer from the Lock Screen. Terminal keeps your existing herdr panes and carries the workflow between your phone and Mac with Handoff.
You want Eternal Terminal, a local Mac shell, Apple Vision Pro support or synced server settings and command clips. Prompt’s Mac Omniview lets you watch multiple terminal tabs and send a command to all of them.
Compare the workflow and what it takes to get connected.
On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to compare.

Terminal’s agent workflow needs herdr and Terminal Bridge on your Macs, with Tailscale for access from your phone. Without herdr, it’s a plain SSH and Mosh terminal for Mac and Linux. See Terminal’s setup and FAQ.
